Faucet Mount, Countertop & Undersink water filter
Q. What type of faucets will the faucet mount, countertop and undersink filters fit on?
A. PUR developed a number of adapters to accommodate different types of faucets. The filter comes with different adapters. The undersink model has a faucet tap which will fit in the sprayer hole on your sink.
Q. Are the faucet mounts, countertops water filters, and undersink models difficult to attach to the faucet?
A. All of the models that attach to the faucet are designed for easy installation. Faucet Mount and Countertop Models - The faucet mount and countertop models easily attach to the end of the faucet. First, simply remove the aerator from your faucet. Second, determine whether or not you need an adapter (included in package). Third, attach system to your faucet by twisting the mounting nut/diverter valve onto the end of the faucet. Undersink Model - The undersink model can be installed in four easy steps. First, remove the sprayer on your sink and install the 3 hose faucet tap. Second, mount the filter housing under your sink. Third, install the T-valve fitting to the cold water line and attach the Fast Connect fitting from the faucet tap to the T-valve (blue hose). Fourth, connect the gray and clear hoses from the tap to the undersink housing.
Q. How long do the filters last?
A. Faucet Mount - 100 gallons (approximately 2 to 3 months). Countertop - 200 gallons (approximately 4 to 6 months). Undersink - 200 gallons (approximately 4 to 6 months). Q. How do I know when to change the faucet mount, countertop and undersink filters?
A. All of PUR's water filters have The Automatic Safety Monitor Gauge (ASM) technology which monitors filter usage. Once the red bar appears in the ASM window on the faucet mount, countertop and undersink models, the filtered water will slow or completely shut off, indicating filter cartridge replacement is needed. See Demo.
Q. What are the filters made of?
A. The faucet mount, countertop and undersink cartridges are made of carbon and an active agent to remove lead. The carbon and active agent are bound in a block form.
Q. Do the faucet mount, countertop and undersink filters reduce water pressure?
A. Water will flow from all units at the rate of 2.5 liters per minute at an influent pressure of 60 psi.
Q. How do you wash dishes with the models that attach to the faucet?
A. The models that attach to the faucet have a bypass feature that will allow unfiltered water to flow through the tap. Faucet Mount - The faucet mount will tip back into the by-pass position. Countertop - The countertop unit has a bypass tab on the faucet attachment. Undersink - The undersink model has a hose faucet tap with a black handle that operates as the bypass feature. Q. Can you run hot water through the faucet mount, countertop, and undersink filters?
A. No! Filter only cold water. Running hot water through the filters will decrease the effectiveness of the filter.
Q. Will I damage my faucet mount, countertop or undersink filter if I don't run water through it for a period of time?
A. No. However, if the filter has not been used for a number of days, flush the filter well by running cold water through it for 3 minutes to reactivate the media in the filter.
